The sixth and final (at least for now) book of the Scorpius Syndrome, this book has been a long time coming, but it was SO worth the wait. Marcus and Penny’s story is sweet, funny, intense, super sexy and gorgeously romantic, set against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world still searching for answers and dealing with every day dangers, but that is also finally starting to settle/5(71).

Scorpius is an interesting take on the James Bond novel. There are aspects that feel Fleming-esque, but on the whole it feels neither like something crafted by the character's creator, nor like the previous novels written by John Gardner. It's lost a lot of the more eighties aspects, and feels quite trimmed back and without extravagance/5(20).

This book was bittersweet in it was the final but it also was highly anticipated as we finally got Marcus Knight's story/5(71).

SCORPIUS - as several of the novels by Gardner before it - starts out with a lot of intrigue and a lot of potential.

In my opinion, the villain Scorpius had all the potential in the world to be as impactful a villain as Auric Goldfinger - I envisioned him almost a cross between that famed villain and Wayne Newton's televangelist from the film version of Licence to Kill/5.
